Far from Hanoi center is only 10 kilometers, you can reach Bat Trang by motorcycle, bicycles or catch a bus. After walking around the old and simple houses in pottery village, you can try the feeling of pottery makers with a very low fee, only 10,000 VND per person (less tham $1). The owners are always at the gate to pick up you. On the playground, you'll be played with ceramic rotating tables. Don’t worry if you do not know how to use them, all makers here will guide you enthusiastically: help you to make shape and take central point. And you are free to create and try out with clay.

However, if you are not skilled enough to make one satisfying work, you can get pottery makers help you to make a beautiful work, and you will decorate it with paint colors. Having such a nice pottery work to bring home, you have to pay extra circa $1. Along the way, you will easily encounter the houses filled with pottery. You can also buy them at stores in these houses. If you take the time to explore, you will buy more beautiful and more unique pottery items with lower prices. However, you should take a note of carefully observe to avoid buying the wrong products.
Pottery market is a place where you should not be overlooked when traveling to Bat Trang. This market is about 6,000 square meters, divided into many small stalls to sell variety of handicrafts items related to ceramics, from the premium crockery, beautiful handicrafts to worship items, rockery miniatures and souvenirs, cups, dishes, etc.

Besides luxury goods, affordable items like cups, vases or dishes with prices from few dozens of VND to few hundred of VND are bought by a large numbers of people coming to market.

Among various items, perhaps the product which young people like most when going to this market is engraved letters earthenware with a lot of colors and shapes. The buyer will choose for themselves some pieces of earthenware then arranging them into a message. The salesgirls here will help you to quickly link pieces of earthenware into bracelets or beautiful necklaces. The price for one is 3,000 VND.

Another plus point in Bat Trang market is that you can comfortably take pictures to save those memorable moments with unique ceramic products. Though you do not buy anything, the sellers are also happy. There is one thing you need remember is to be careful when taking pictures with ceramic items.

09.45. a.m. Arrive in Duong Lam village, then riding a bicycle along the small old alleys to admire the ancient looking of village. Stop at Mong Phu temple and Mong Phu hamlet for sightseeing its long-standing village gate that was built by "Thương gia hạ môn" structure. After that, we bike around the village to observe the daily life and farming, practice of Vietnamese peasants along the paddies. Next, we stop in the biggest ancient house was build 200 years ago and the most ancient house dates back to 400 years ago. Final morning, we explore the Mia Pagoda, built in 15th century.
12.00. a.m. Enjoy the lunch at an ancient house in the village.
In the afternoon, the bus takes you again the Capital, then going to Bat Trang ceramic village that is placed along Hong River. Local artisans are renowned the world over for ceramic arts and have won many international awards. This is a very good chance for you to witness these artisans at work as we roam down narrow alleys into shops where you’ll be able to buy their refined ceramics at the reasonable prices.
