Rice with oysters: this kind of food is sold in many food shops and by the street vendors at a very cheap price and with strange taste.

Bun Bo Hue: This is a popular food but you will feel it very different when being dined in Hue. The white fibers of vermicelli are outstanding from the pink tablets of meat and crab. And the pieces of pork leg meat which are well stewed.  This dish is more interesting as served with a bowl of hot and spicy sauce. The beef noodle shops can be found anywhere in the city.

Banh Beo in Hue: 
The people in Hue have long used this kind of home flavor food for their minor meals. Besides the street vendors that sell Banh Beo, there are some “Banh Beo Street” near by An Dinh palace, Ngu Binh Street, Nguyen Binh Khiem Street and so on.

Banh Loc “Mụ Đỏ”:  There are a lot of foodshops serving banh beo and banh loc, but one of the most famost one is the shop of Mrs Do which is often called Banh Loc Mu Do shop. Besides some kind of cakes like banh loc, banh beo, banh nam, there is the dish called banh la cha tom at 71 Nguyen Binh Khiem.
 

 
 

Banh Khoai: this kind of cake is made from rice powder stired with water and  egg yolks, then added some pepper, onion, fishsauce, shrimps without covers, grilled beef or bird meat sliced, fat meat in small pieces and fresh bean sprouts.

I love spicy food and understand from this forum that Hue serves spicy cuisine, please recommend a few famous spicy dishes in Hue.

You can add chili to everything, just ask for some soy sauce and a chili and cut it with a spoon, then dip anything into it.
I agree with daawgon that Bún Bò Huế can be very spicy, and it is one of my favorites.
Pho is usually as spicy as you want it to be as you add the ingredients yourself. Be cautious though, it get increasingly spicy as you empty your bowl!

The best Bun Bo Hue i've tried is in a little market at Thuan An,about 14km outside Hue,at the relatively famous Thuan An Beach.The best Bun Bo's are always the street venders.Little red tables & dwarf red plastic chairs are heaven....to me!
