Ninh Binh located in the South of the Northern Delta of Vietnam was inherited with a number of wonderful landscapes including many famous caves like Tam Coc- Bich Dong, Dich Loc, Tien Cave, Hoa Son, Thien Ha and so on. Ninh Binh is also famous for Cuc Phuong National Park with the diversified flora and fauna. This land possesses a large number of historical, cultural and religion relics such as Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Phat Dien stone temple complex, Non Nuoc pagoda, etc,. Those relics have become attractive destinations for local and international tourists.

Coaches 
Coach is one of the most convenient ways to visit Ninh Binh. Coaches to Ninh Binh are available on daily basic in some stations in Hanoi including Giap Bat and My Dinh stations. If you choose Open Bus, some names like The Sinh Tourist or Hung Thanh are the common ones. Besides, some coaches with beds to the South also passing Ninh Binh. Coaches will drive you to the Ninh Binh city’s station, or if you want to get off at any place nearby Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, ask the driver to show you the way and let you off. 

Railway 
It is safe and cheap to go to Ninh Binh by train and you can catch the SE7 train (starts at 6h15) or SE5 train (starts at 9h00) from Hanoi to Ninh Binh. However, the problem is the inflexibility in time. From the train, you then also need to catch other transports to go to the attractions that you like. 

Historical and Cultural Sites 

Hoa Lu Ancient Capital 
This is the capital city of the first feudal state in Vietnam which still retains a lot of palace, temple or mausoleum remains. There are some very nice pagodas in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital including Ngan Xuyen and Nhat Tru pagodas which have attracted a large number of visitors. 

Bai Dinh Temple 
This is a famous complex of temples for some records of the largest acreage temple, the biggest bronze Buddhist Statue, the temple with the most numerous Arhat and and the most numerous linden, etc,. In 2010, Bai Dinh is the place organizing the very big Buddhism festival when the Buddhist from India came to Vietnam.

Bich Dong Temple
Bich Dong is an ancient temple with the solemn appearance and is typical for Eastern architecture. Mountains, caves and temple are in harmony in combination with the deep green of old trees that make this destination sacred and mysterious. 

Landscapes

Non Nuoc Mountain 
Non Nuoc Mountain, also known as Duc Thuy Muontain is at 70m high with a quite flat peak.  It is located in the Northeast of Ninh Binh Town, in the conjunction of Day River and Van Sang River that creates the charming beauty of mountain and sea to the town. More than 40 poems of some historical celebrities were carved here on the cliffs. 

Tam Coc – Bich Dong
This is one of the key tourist destinations of Vietnam which is also known as “Ha Long Bay inland” or the Second Best Cave in the South. 
There are some main yacht routs in Tam Coc- Bich Dong which connect around 20 attractions including Tam Coc; XUyen Thuy Cave (under Bich Dong); Thach Bich-Thung Nang; Thung Nham-Bird Garden; some pedestrian or mountain climbing zones; Bich Dong Mountain and Cave; Thien Huong cave; Mua Cave; Co Vien Lau Ancient House; Thai Vi Temple, etc.

Cuc Phuong National Park 
Situated about 120km from Hanoi to the Southeast, Cuc Phuong National Park encompasses an acreage of 22,200 ha, in which three quarter is limestone mountains at the height of 300m to 600m from the sea level. 71 species of animals, 319 species of birds, 33 species of 33 reptiles, 16 amphibians are found here in Cuc Phuong National Park including some rare animals like bear, horse, wild boar, leopard and so on. there is a semi-nature farming area in the park with an aim to conserve some kind of animal such as deer, golden monkey, squirrel. Cuc Phuong is also the convergence of various species of insects and nice and rare birds.

Phat Diem Stone Cathedral
The church located about 130 km from Hanoi to the South is a masterpiece of architecture constructed by Phe Ro Tran Luc priest from 1875 to 1899. This is a complex of temples in the Eastern style combined with Gotic architecture from the West, includinglake, Phuong Dinh, Cathedral, surrounding churches, stone church and stone cave.

Festivals

Truong Yen Festival: This is the annual festival taking place in March 10 (lunar calendar) in Hoa Lu to celebrate the merits and contributions of 2 kings in Dinh and Le dynasties. 
Yen Cu festival:  This festival takes place in August 20 (lunar calendar) in Khanh Cu commune, Yen Khanh province. The special thing in this festival is that so many fishes gather there like they are having a festival. 

Cuisine

Ninh Binh is famous for dished cooked from mountain goats; Kim Son wine, Tong Truong eel and perch vermicelli, Dong Giao pineapple, Ninh Binh baked rice and a dish mixing from horse organs. The most renowned and unique dish is goat meat.
