What to do in Danang Center and Outlying areas

Danang is a lively and amazing city with a dynamics life style, but really beautiful. It is bewitching by a long line of beach that covers the city. It is the third development city, only under Saigon and Hanoi, Danang is amazing for living and relaxing. Let take your family to this friendly city and join in variety thing to do here:

WHAT TO DO IN DANANG CITY CENTER

The Museum of Champa Sculpture Art (or Cổ viện Chàm): this is the world unique museum about Cham culture which retains the artifacts of the ancient Champa dynasty.

Han River Bridge: the bridge was constructed on the main road of Bach Dang street, connecting Hai Chau district with Son Tra district. The bridge is the pride of the locals in Danang. It is in outstanding and romantic beaty at night. The special thing is that, at night, the bridge rotates 90o around the axis at the middle of it so that large boats can pass go through. Since Octorber 14th 2014, the People Committee of Danang decided to adjust the time to pass the bridge in order to better serve the locals and tourists to enjoy this destination.

Accordingly, Han River bridge rotates from 23h to 24h on every Saturday and Sunday (1 hour earlier than before). At the same time, all the vehicles are prevented at 15 minutes before the rotating time of the bridge. 

Dragon Bridge: This bridge was established in 2013, connecting Danang Airport with My Khe and Non Nuoc beaches. The artificial dragon on the bridge is able to spray fire and water at 21h on Saturday, Sunday and festival time.

Con Market: This is the larggest shopping center of Danang and the Central region in general. It is not just a place to buy things but an attractive destination to visitors.

Location: Con Market is located in Hai Chau II ward, Hai Chau district, in the intersection of Hung Vuong and Ong Ich Khiem Streets. 
 

SON TRA PENINSULA/ MONKEY MOUNTAIN  

Located about 10km to the East from Danang, Son Tra is considered “the pearl” with a long winding coast with the diverse flora and fauna. The peninsula belongs to Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district with the acreage of 4,439ha. In this area, the long coast is all year round blue and Hai Van Pass surrounding Danang city and Danang gulf.  
Linh Ung Pagoda: Linh Ung Son Tra or Linh Ung Bai But Pagoda (to indentify with Linh Ung Ngu Hanh Son and Linh Ung Ba Na), is the biggest pagoda both in acreage and architecture in Danang.

Tien Stream and Da Stream: the two streams with unspoilt beauty on Son Tra Mountain are the familiar destinations on the tour to Son Tra peninsula. 
But Gulf: Hiding behind a beautiful strait, But gulf is a place with the harmony between ocean, mountain and forest. 


SOME BEACHES IN THE EAST COAST OF DANANG

My Khe Beach:  My Khe beach is about 3 km from Danang. To get there, you have to pass Han River Bridge, then go straight on Pham Van Dong street for about 1,5 km to the East. This is a well known beach for its white fine sand, gentle wave, warm water all the year and the surrounding romantic coconut tree rows. More specially, My Khe used to be voted as one of the world six most enchanting beaches.

Pham Van Dong beach: This is a public beach built with the expenditure of 12 billions dong which attracts both the locals and visitors from other regions. Pham Van Dong beach is located in East sea Park,  Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district.

Bac My An beach: This is a beach in Bac My An ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, Danang. White fine sand, blue clear water and the little year gap temperature are the advantages of this beach.

NGU HANH SON (MARBLE MOUNTAINS)

Tam Thai Pagoda: is located in the West of Thuy Son Mountain, one of the 5 most famous mountains of Ngu Hanh Son.

Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village: This is a famous place not only in Vietnam but foreign countries for making handicrafts from marble. This village is in Hoa Hai ward, Ngu hanh Son district.

Non Nuoc Beach: The beach is of 5 km long with am airy pine hill under Ngu Hanh Son. Non Nuoc Beach is beautiful with white fine sand, little slope and gentle wave. The water is clean without pollution attracting both local and international tourists. 

THE OUTLYING AREAS FROM CENTER OF DANANG 

Ba Na Hill – Nui Chua: This mountain is located in  Hoa Vang district which is about 40 km from the Southwest. In Ba Na, there are 4 seasons in a day: morning– spring, noon–summer, afternoon–fall, night–winter. This is one of the best well known attractions in Danang.

Hai Van Pass: is the place where Truong Son Mountain protruts into the sea. The pass is considered the natural boder between the North and the South of Vietnam.

Cam Ne Mat Village: located in Hoa Tien commute, Hoa Vang district, Danang, Cam Ne Mat Village is about 14 km to the Southwest from Danang center. This village has long been famous for some kinds of traditional mat which used to appear inside the palace under Nguyen dynasty.

Tuy Loan ancient village:
The village is situated in Hoa Phong commute, Hoa Vang district, Danang city which is about 15 km from the city center of Danang. Tuy Loan ancient villae is more than 500 years old. Visiting the village, you dhould not miss the chance to enjoy the famous foods of rice paper cake and Mi Quang.

The God Well: The God Well is located in the Ba Na – Nui Chua reservation in Danang where is famous for Ba Na Hills. The pristine scenery is the motivation for tourists to visit this destination. Some popular tourist activities here include trekking, mountain climbing camping or stream bathing.  
To move to this attraction, from the car park of Ba Na cable, conquers have to get over 7.5 km winding mountainous roads, pass streams and forests. This area seems to be an isolated and unspoiled place. After passing the first slope, the remaining rout is easier to go. 

Ran Nam O: Located about 2km to the Southeast from Nam Ô village (Hoa Hiep Nam ward, Lien Chieu district, Danang) and between Danang and Hai Van Pass, there is a reef called Ran Nam O. Ran Nam O is covered by algae, so it becomes the accommondation of numerous rare fish and marine spicies.

What places are there in Da Nang for two day trip? I'll be in the city for 2 days on a business trip and I would like to spend 2 extra days (weekend) for tourist activities.

BaNa Hill station is quite popular, take a motorbike trip up to Hai Van Pass. A day trip to Hoi An is nice. Check the Things to do tab at the top of the page for attractions.

Do the food tour in daytime, and motorbike tour at night. Both the tours are organized, and you can buy the trips online. On second day, explore local shops in the morning, and go to Hoi An after lunch. It takes about 45 minutes. Stay overnight at Hoi An if possible.

Hotels on My Khe beach stretch are good in general, and more quieter toward north. Stick with hot meals with the young kids. Ba Na Hill would be kids’ fantasy land.

I would go early (before sunrise) for a daytrip to Hoi An. Start at the market in the early morning and take a walk in the old quarter without masses of tourists and find a nice place for breakfast. One day will be enough to visit Hoi An I think, it's a small place. You'll habe enough time to do a bicycle or boat ride and visiting the old quarter. After a dinner at the river get a taxi back.

We stayed in Da Nang and ventured to Hoi An most days. We also stayed in Hoi An too. Getting clothes made well requires daily fittings.
We didn’t find the hassle or cost a problem when commenting to and from.
