Tam Giang Lagoon - a bewitching country-side of Hue
Tam Giang lagoon brings a charming beauty of Hue land at the sunset. The water surface is sparkling with yellow light, the shrimp fields on lagoon closed together that creates different shapes fascinated travelers
Right at the entrance of Tam Giang lagoon, there is a quite busy village market with various goods, not inferior other markets in the city. Especially when the evening downs, purple twilight dyes over lagoon, the village market becomes crowded than ever because fishing boats come back and fresh shrimp, fish, squid are fast moved from fishing boats to market then transferred from market to other merchant boats to share out to region’s markets.
Tam Giang Lagoon is very large, contains fresh water in rainy season and brackish water in dry season.
Moreover, Tam Giang’s jellyfish is big, red spotted shell, soft like a ball, fishermen trawl the nets up then detach each one out and put on barge. Jellyfish are full of barge that any blank spaces can’t contain more so the fishermen have to release them back to the sea.
Arriving Tam Giang lagoon, visitors can also explore special belvedere houses of fishermen here (“nhà chồ” in Vietnamese, temporary house on lagoon to take care shrimp-fish). Fishermen live in these houses to enjoy serene life, fresh and filled with laughter.

The last sunshine streaks of one day brighten up suddenly, cut across quite and vast space, inserted into lapping ocean waves and weakly chase boats that are fading gradually on “water road as labyrinth” and turning throughout follow many directions on lagoon.
